Craft Beer Battle
We want Craft Beer Battle to become an important annual event for Britain’s burgeoning craft beer brewers and we’d love to see you there. We’ve got at least eight of the best and coolest craft brewers competing in a blind tasting of their competition beers and we need your help to pick the winner. We expect to see up to 1,000 craft beer fans gather on the day at Merchant Yard from noon until 10pm in a beer battle where everyone leaves happy.
The first 500 tickets for the blind tasting (a ¼ pint tasting of at least eight beers between noon-5pm) are £10 and everyone votes for their favourite. We’ll announce the winner at 6pm and the bar is open until 10pm to sample some (or all) of the 30+ other craft beers available to buy on the day; making Beer Battle a mini beer festival.
We’ve also got some of our favourite street food people grilling all day - barbecue chicken, ribs, rice, pork buns and hot dogs from Bao, Spit and Roast, Yum Jungle, Mama’s Jerk, Vinn Goute and Rotary Smoke. We’ve got chicken that’s been barbecued, jerked, thai-fried, spit-roasted and soya milk-soaked.
If you’re not doing the tasting, you don’t need a ticket to come along for the day to dip into the delicious street food and grills from some of London’s best and enjoy the Merchant Yard atmosphere. You can sample the 30+ craft beers at the festival Yard Bar and get stuck in to The Gin Store until late.
It promises to be a great day. Tickets here.
Tweat Up is a regular meet up of people on Twitter; eating and drinking involved.
Our first Tweat Up was in 2010 with Lucky Chip in E8. Since then, we've held events with Pitt Cue, Big Apple Hot dogs, under bridges and in tramsheds, in parks and on rooftops. We held the first UK Chilli Stand Off in Shoreditch in October 2011 (and in Hackney in November 2012) and have organised events like Ribstock, Fifteen Street, Ginstock and Rumstock in Soho and Hoxton since.
So far no deaths or arrests.
